The Cemetery Committee was established in 1923 by the Decherd Board of Mayor and Aldermen. "The board is hereby authorized and empowered to appoint a Cemetery Committee to look after and beautify and keep and preserve the city's cemeteries and to further prescribe the committee's powers and duties."
The Committee meets quarterly on the fourth Tuesday of that month.
