This important department's core responsibilities include:
- Budget management: Develop and administer the city's annual budget, including revenue forecasting, expenditure monitoring, and cash-flow projections.
- Financial reporting: Prepare and present various financial reports to city leadership and the public, and manage the annual independent audit process.
- Accounting and compliance: Oversee general accounting functions, ensure the accuracy of financial records, and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial regulations and principles.
- Payroll and accounts: Manage payroll processing and ensure the accuracy of accounts payable and receivable.
